Hello everyone,
This is my second time with myfitnesspal. I did this last year when my ex-girlfriend introduced me to the site. While not significantly overweight, I definitely had extra pounds--the kind that I never seemed to lose. After staying with the program for a couple of months I finally lost a decent amount of weight. But more importantly, I felt better, less bloated, heavy, and lethargic. Last summer I I gained the weight back due to work and other factors. But I'm back.
I'm 32, male, around 5'4" and currently 157 pounds. My goal is 135-140 pounds.
I'm about 10-15 pounds overweight (based on BMI) for my height and weight. So far my goal has been to lose 1.5 pounds a week and in the last month I've lost about 3-4 pounds. So I'm happy about that. My appetite fluctuates and I sometimes still get pretty hungry. But I think overall, I eat a lot less and I'm generally less hungry. My job is incredibly stressful and this particular time is especially hectic. So I find myself constantly eating out and drinking lots of coffee. It will be like this for the next month or so. Afterwards, I intend to go back to healthier eating, and especially home cooking (which I usually love to do). Still, even when I eat out, I try to eat relatively healthy (salads, etc.) And I still try to drink water, although I know I still don't drink quite enough.
But I'm staying more or less within my calorie goals. Not sure if it's a big deal, but some days I find myself CARRYING over extra calories from the previous day to the next day - and then they balance out. This is my compromise for when I get a little too hungry.
For now, my belly's slowly shrinking, I have less digestion issues (I have GERD and IBS--although with my diet it's much better), and I generally feel more confident with my body.
I look forward to continuing with the slow but steady calorie guidelines of MFP. Hope everyone else is doing well with their goals, as well!
