Pull-up bars for thick doors

I bought a pro-form multi-training door gym (http://www.proform.com/fitness/en/ProForm/Accessories/multi-training-door-gym), but the wall/molding in my old building is apparently too thick and nonstandard for it to work. Not by much, but I can't get the crossbar to go over the molding. I tried it at a friend's place and it worked fine, so it is definitely a thick door problem, not user error or bad assembly.

Are there any pull-up bars (I'm looking for brands) that could work for me? Has anyone else defeated this problem? I know I could go to a playground and use the monkey bars, but I work out in the mornings before work and I just don't have time, and anyway it's too cold, so I am looking for ideas that a) can happen in my apartment and b) won't damage my apartment. Does anyone have an alternative? I'd really like to be able to work on pull-ups, and I can't join a gym right now.

    I use this:

    https://www.perfectonline.com/product/specs/multigym

It has 5 positions for variable thicknesses of walls. I actually bought it because the way it's built allows for wide-grip pullups, but have found that I really like it having all the hand positions. Plus I can put it on the ground and get some 'sorta-kinda' dips out of it.

I got it at WalMart for like $30

Thanks you! That looks promising. I don't know why I'm stressing about this. I can't even DO a pull-up. But I'll never be able to if I don't try, right?
