Cheat day?

Is it important to have a cheat day once a week while you are on diet? I'm bit confused with this matter.

  • I do for sanity sake.
    I have a cheat meal on Saturday and go over around 600 calories over my daily goal and I've still lost 2 pounds a week for the last 3.5 months.

    My cheat day is "Sunday Funday" where I don't binge, but I definitely eat what I like while watching football. But I stay regimented throughout the week, which is only why I allow it for myself. Not only does it give me something to look forward to, but makes the weight loss seem like a less daunting task.
