Adding photos to my blog?

I have read the help tutorial and I have added pics to other blogs before so I am pretty sure that I am doing it correctly but only the link shows up in the entry, not the photo.

Can someone please help?

    open two seperate internet browser windows, one with the blog, one with the picture.

    click and drag the picture into the blog text box
