MFP says I don't reach 1000 when I feel like I do?

Is my food just low cal or is it because of MFP? I feel really full but when I record my meals on MFP it says I don't even reach 1000 cals -_- Idk if I should eat more or just let it be? You can check my food diary.

Hi, I had a look through your diary.
You seem to have a lot of rice measured in cups. Is this accurate? 1/4 cup of cooked rice would be a very small portion. You'd be better weighing things in grams.
I'm not familiar with that brand of bread either, but 83 calories for 2 slices seems low.0 -
Are you fairly confident in the accuracy of your logging? If so, you can't argue numbers with how you feel.0

Yes I use a standard cup measurement. And that's just a single slicethe suggested serving size in the package is 2 but I logged in only half of the 2

Yes, I measure everythingeven when I eat out like I did today I asked for the weight of my chicken cutlet and how many cups of rice they serve

If you are confident of your measures, I would eat more. < 1000 isnt healthy in the long term. Try to get as close to your MFP number as you can.0

I looked through the last week or so of your diary. You have a few very low fat days, which is going to make it much harder to get your total calories up.
If you're certain of your logging, then yes... you're just eating that little. It doesn't matter how you feel, the numbers don't lie.0 -
In addition to the other comments, you have a lot of generic food listings. Do you eat out that often (because then you may be eating more than the listing says)? If you are cooking those things you really need to enter each ingredient that you use and weigh solids/measure liquids.0

I am probably going against the grain here, but I will offer my opinion, nontheless!
You are dieting at the moment, and you feel full on under/just under 1,000 calories. That isn't a biggie whilst you're still losing weight. If you feel ok, then don't stress about it. Everybody is not the same. Some are active, some are sedentary. Some are tall, some are short, some are hungry, some are not etc.
If you feel it is about right for you, and you are losing weight at about the right speed, then well done you!0 -
According to your topic title.... You feel like you do reach 1000 even when the MFP math calculates less than a 1000? Math isn't a feeling. it's a fact. I'm a bit confused my your title.
As far as feeling hungry... "Not feeling hungry" doesn't mean "the body doesn't need food." Eat calorie dense foods like nuts and avocados and cheese if you want your calories(fuel) higher.
The question about measuring everything could be better stated as "do you weigh everything on a kitchen scale?" (When you are home, obviously not at a restaurant)
If you are using the cup measurement for your rice, you are not weighing it.
Me, I don't weigh rice. It's too hard when cooking a double huge batch (for these ravenous teenage boys) so I just use a measuring cup. But, I also don't have questions about my intake. If I was having difficulties with my intake I would weigh everything on a scale for 2 weeks...which would mean, for me, no rice or pasta unless making it just for myself, and no eating out during that time. To get an accurate account for those weeks.
I do weigh butter/peanut butter/mayo..... Those things cam end up adding a lot more calories then one might think, by eyeing or even using a measuring spoon.0 -
Thanks for your insights!
1. I will try to eat more and see where it will take me
2. Filipino dishes are always made with the same ingredients, when I tried to make a recipe in the recipes part where you put the exact ingredients, etc. The cals were EXACTLY the same so I'd say I really put everything on here
3. i do agree I have too kuch low fat food, I have to change that
4. I am losing weight but I believe it's just water weight since 2 weeks ago I gained 2lbs from DOMS because of a new workout program. So I dont really know how this diet is affecting me right now haha
Thanks you guys, you gave me lots to think about :flowerforyou:0 -
If you feel full, you don't necessarily have to eat a greater volume of food, just more calorie dense food. 2tbsp of peanut butter, for example, has about the same amount of calories as a cup of white rice.0

I would suggest weighing your rice right now. For example 1 cup of packed rice is much more than one cup of non-packed rice. Also, you could add 1 or 2 oz. of nuts like almonds or pistacchios to your diet every day and easily reach your calorie goal. I also don't see a lot of fruit or veggies in your diet. Make sure you get the right nutrients to fuel your body.
Good luck.0 -
I will try to get calorie dense healthy foods, thank you! And I love peanutbutter! Hehe thanks again! I was just kinda scared of making the wrong move lol0
