I am a busy mom of 3 and think one of them has given me their cold. Its just starting today but I am tired and have a little sore throat. Like always I am taking my vitamins and drinking lots of water and also taking Zicam cold remedy. Should I change what I am eating? Should I change my exercise routine because I am training for my first 4 mile "fun run" on Thanksgiving. I really dont have time to be sick.

For a cold you can keep your same routine.0

Just eat. What you eat has no effect on a virus.0

If the cold is more in the head than you can keep your same exercise routine(If you don't have a fever) Exercise almost always makes me feel better! If it's more in your chest or you are experiencing symptoms "below the neck" , then you'll want to take a day or 2 off.
Most importantly, let your body be your guide. If you are experiencing aches and pains, fatigue, lethargic, etc. Then it doesn't hurt to take a day off and rest. Take a hot bath, drink a nice cup of hot tea with lemon and ride it out.
If you decide to exercise, again listen to your body. Reduce the intensity and/or length as needed. You don't want to cause more damage that may put you out longer. Your body is vulnerable when you are sick, so be careful.
Also, I like to think of other people around me. If you workout at the gym but still want to work out when sick, maybe opt for a workout at home, or a run around your neighbourhood. You don't want to make others at the gym, and spread it around.
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!:flowerforyou:0
