Dinner For Breakfast

When dieting, a lot of people struggle with what to eat for breakfast - especially when they're trying to reduce their fat and sugar macros during the day. I think we start to feel trapped in an endless cycle of oatmeal, kashi cereal, and egg white omelettes. Blah, Blah, Blaaahhhh......
So I decided to do something about it for myself.
I opened up the definition of breakfast to mean ANYTHING I WANTED that morning.
I mean.....why do you have to eat breakfast food for breakfast? Who says? It's your life - do what you want!
When you look at it this way - you realize that the possibilities are ENDLESS.
Now I eat dinner and lunch stuff for breakfast all the time! For example:
-I eat soup a LOT. Love soup for breakfast. It's warm in the tummy and satisfying.
-Warm spinach salads with hard boiled eggs and bacon and fruit on them.
-Homemade baked asian chicken meatballs with spinach in them and rolled in panko.
-Black bean veggie burgers topped with avocado and fresh salsa
-Rolls of prosciutto or ham around a pepper jack cheese stick and some fresh basil leaves, with sliced pears, or apples, or cantaloupe on the side
-Whole wheat tortillas spread with cream cheese and stuffed with smoked turkey, cucumbers, salsa, and spinach leaves.
-Make savory oatmeal - cook up your oatmeal and top it like a stuffed baked potato with sour cream, bacon bits, shredded cheddar, chopped scallions, and diced tomatoes.
-Make (whole grain) savory pancakes the same way - top with veggie sausage and a fried egg and some salsa
Or just make any casserole, salad, sandwich, etc. you want! Get creative! All that matters is the calories anyway, so who cares if you fit the American norm of breakfast?
Any other ideas/suggestions?

I could eat breakfast for any meal of the day so this doesn't apply to me, lol.
But none of that boring breakfast food, it's all about eggs, bacon, toast, coffee. yum.0 -

I'm a fan of Brinner and everything, who doesn't like bacon for dinner? But, I think my issue with dinner for breakfast is that it just takes longer to prepare. Personally, I don't wake up early enough to cook a meal and I'm usually not hungry enough for anything heavier than a bowl of cereal. More power to you though. :drinker:0

Guinness for breakfast for the win!!
I'm a little ashamed to admit this publicly, but in my 20's when my metabolism was a raging inferno, and I ran collegiate Cross Country and Track, my roommate and I agreed that we would see who could go the longest on a diet SOLELY consisting of Guinness and Bacon.
I think we both regretted the decision by about the 6th day. When I caved on the 8th day and quit, my roommate told me he had simply stopped eating after breakfast on day 7, and would rather be hungry than ill from beer and pork.0
