Hate the Holiday treats...Well now I do

I've been very behaved for quite awhile only a minor slip up or 2 in the past 5 months. Last night I stopped at Walgreens and they had those Terry's Chocolate Oranges in the peppermint flavor which I love. Lately I've been doing good eating just a portion (which on that is still not good, but its truly seasonal.) Instead I go home crack it open and devour the entire thing (960 calories, and 56 grams of fat). Not like I didn't feel guilty enough...the scale went up more than 3 pounds this morning. Which I know has to be impossible, b/c had I actually logged that I would have been 600 calories over goal for the day and 40 grams of fat over. A pound is 3500 calories...it was low sodium only 80 mg for the entire thing so what in the heck is my scale doing to me? Did the extra fat do it to me or will it likely go away on its on? Needless to say weekend off from treadmill is cancelled :(

Don't beat yourself up over your small binge. It is just water weight. This is what helps me--think of the last year (or years of your life). You would have had that treat and not thought about the consequences. Now you think about the consequences!!!!!! You are moving in the right direction. There is a saying "ignorance is bliss" It was easier to eat through life without thinking about what it is causing to your body. Npw that you know--you are holding yourself accountable. Keep up the great work!!

A 3 lb weight fluctuation could have happened on any day. I wouldn't even give that a second thought, especially if I was weighing daily (which I don't for this exact reason).

What happened, happened. If you don't think you can portion it, then skip it at this time. I know, that sucks, I agree. Just get back to things now.

And no food is "good" or "bad". Honestly, I think that is a bad mindset that leads to things such as binges and not being able to stay on a calorie restricted diet. Having a portion of something that fits into your calories and macros is not a "bad" thing to do.
