take control. you can do it.

it started when i got into my car accident. i broke my hip and was immobile for 2 months. i decided then that my life was not meant to be wasted.

i've went so long just eating what i want to eat and that being the end of it. it was sort of a slap in the face when i logged on to MFP and entered in everything i'd just eaten for breakfast and i was already over what i was allowed for the day. BIG EYE OPENER. i thought my boyfriend was joking when he said i probably consume over 1000 calories a day in soda alone. wowsers.

so, water it is. fruits and veggies it is. smart ones it is. lol...

more than a few people have told me the first few days is the hardest. this is the first time ive ever attempted to 'diet.' my boss calls it a 'lifestyle change.' i like that, sounds much more permanent.

just wanted to say hey. ;)

Way to go! You are absolutely right about this being a lifestyle change. And this is such a good tool to keep you on track. I've had many of those "meals" that were more than a day's worth of calories myself! This is so helpful with choices. Whenever possible, I put in my planned meal before I eat it, so that I know what the damages are! Then if something changes, I add or delete immediately after. Between that, the exercise calculator, and all the support here, I've never found losing weight this easy before.

that is an excellent idea! my jaw really did hit the floor (and not because i was putting food in my mouth, lol) when i saw what i consumed on a regular basis, with no exercise??! thats going no where but down hill fast. i feel like this website will be super supportive, and exactly what i need.
