Thank you. I have looked into this and found it useful. Depending what site you use to get the calculations depends on the answers as there is a variation so Im going with that my BMI is 1519, my TDEE is 2584 based on my intention to work out 3-5 days a week for an hour making my activity level as moderate. So am I right in thinking I will be eating about 1600 calories a day, and working out but not eating back the exercise calories as they are already calculated into the TDEE? And this will give me an estimated weight loss of 2lb a week. Sorry if im sounding dense lol Im no good with things like this. Thanks

If you are using the TDEE method, you will not eat back your exercise calories because they are already figured into the number. (If you use MFP method, you will eat back your exercise calories or at least a portion of them to account for overestimation.) As long as you eat under your TDEE, you will lose weight. However, if your activity level is not calculated appropriately, you will have a difficult time. If your activity level is appropriate and your TDEE is 2584, there is no reason to eat 1600 calories and have such an aggressive goal. Think long-term. Many times, people set aggressive goals with the hopes of losing the weight quickly and fail to learn new habits to keep the weight off long-term. Set a reasonable goal that you can sustain over a long period of time and be patient. Take some time and read all of the links in that thread. There is some amazing information in there.

Thank you, you have been so helpful!! I have been reading all the links, several times lol I think its making sense now. Im not too concerned on time frame to lose it, but I dont want it to take forever. 10lb a month would be great, but il be disappointed if I put in so much effort if its anything less than 7lb a month.

Thank you again for taking the time to reply and offer me some much needed help :) x
