Homemade bars before running

I'm looking for a quick bite before my hour long runs and came across a few of these. Has anyone tried a homemade energy/calorie bar? Or do you have any opinions on these? I'm a roll out of bed and go kind if runner so eating a bar is much more preferred than making oatmeal and toast. I'm
Wondering if these have enough carbs for me rather than being protein bars.

Many run on an empty stomach, don't feel you have to eat if you've eaten well the day before.0 -
I'm venturing into unknown territory as my miles have increased recently. So I think I'm looking to be ready in case.0

I eat really light before morning runs. One piece toast w pb and maybe half banana. I've run up to 11 miles on this. My friend runs up to 13 miles on empty stomach.0

For an hour run you really don't need anything special. Just your normal food will suffice0
