most effective way to increase iron intake

As I've been tracking my food intake, I've noticed that I'm very low in my iron intake. I've tried researching some good sources of iron, but most seem to be high in calories. I would really prefer to obtain my minerals through food instead of supplements. Black strap mollases seems to be a popular choice but I'm not really sure if you just eat that or put it into something.

If anyone could give me some suggestions, I would be very appreciative!
