What i should do?

Hello,

I would like to ask one thing that I think is a question that some people have in a weight loss journey.

I count calories, i do regular exercise, i loose in the first week 1kg (2Lbs), the secound 500gr (half 1Lbs) . And i didn't loose more weight. I had 1500kcal, 30% carbs, 40% protein, 30% fat. I have a big difficulty to eat 40% protein a day, sometimes i consume around 10% or a little bit more, days i really try eat protein 20%. About fat i don't eat very much fat too, and i eat a little more of carbs. Now i'm in two weeks without loosing nothing.

What I should do?

Thank you

Do you weigh your food with a food scale? How long have you been actively logging everyday?

Ultimately, if you're not losing weight, then it is because you're consuming more calories than you're burning.

I don't weigh my food with a food scale, but i search in the database and see the Kcal on things i consume also. Everyday i try to workout at least 30min a day. At moment i have 87,5Kgs.

The most accurate way of logging your food is to weigh it with a food scale (in grams) and look for entries that have 100g or 1g as a serving size option. Otherwise your estimates could be off by anywhere from 30-50% on average.

Without seeing your diary, it is difficult to share any meaningful advice.

Yes, i use the 1g to add my serving size option when i add to food diary

  • :noway: ? I think that you are , not consuming enough food of the right content, ie protein fats and carbs and wait for it vegetable as well! For your body to get to work efficiently ,one must at ENOUGH because ,if the Body thinks its in a MINI STARVED STATE" ,THEN THE AMOUNT that you are digesting is not the FULL QUOTAS. UK.

Uh...what? Ultimately she needs to get her macros in check, but weight loss is all about the calorie deficit.

So no, her body does not think it is in a "mini starved state", whatever that means.

I think i don't eat little for my body think i'm in starved state. But i agree that maybe i need to eat the right contente of protein and fat, maybe that is the problem.

Right, but if you don't weigh your food, how do you know how many grams it is??

Or i calculated mentaly because i just know what i going to eat because i know the things and i'm doing it for years. Or i calculate for tbsp, for exemple rice. When i don't know because is new things i'm trying out i search about it, and i know how much tbsp (for exemple) i eat, and i calculated.

For me its almost impossible have a weight food scale, in that moment at home they will assume i'm "sick" for doing that. But they (family) don't saw my obesity as a health problem. Strange things.

Have you ever considered changing your macros up? I personally follow the Paleo Diet, and I get about 15% of my daily intake from carbs, and about 50% from healthy fats. Now, not all Paleos eat this low carb, but I had a huge amount of success when I began to eat this way. I'm talking a 36 pound loss over 6 weeks. I count calories as well, which many Paleos also don't do. But I've really found the overall ideas behind the Paleo Lifestyle makes me feel better in general. (No processed food, no grain, no legumes. I personally eat dairy because I have no intolerance, but some Paleos don't eat it at all) I would suggest maybe trying the 30 Day Challenge, or even just trying 30 days of only whole foods, and see if you notice a difference :)

Your macros really don't matter unless you have some definite goal like bodybuilding or have a medical condition. You aren't eating 1500 calories a day at your weight and not losing. My bet is that your food logging is inaccurate and unless you start actually weighing foods it's likely to stay that way. Tbsps, cups, etc are not accurate measures for most items and many items in the database are not correct.

Measure and weigh every portion/serving. It worked for me and I was surprised at what I was logging as a serving was more like double the serving. Drink all your water and exercise more.
