Weight Training Help?

Hey everyone!
For those that lift, I could use some help.
If you were starting over, or for someone new like me, would you suggest lifting for strength or endurance? I get a great high from using dumbbells and I really enjoy it, but I'm looking for some general starting advice.
Thanks!

Strength, especially as a newbie.
Although a lot of people over-exaggerate the difference between doing 3-5 reps, 4-6 reps, and 8-10 reps per set. Any one of those rep ranges will do, and when you can hit the higher limit and be within the rep range on subsequent sets, you move up in weight.
Anything more than 10 reps and you're mostly wasting your time because you'll plateu and that will be that. It's a lot easier to transition to endurance, if you need to, after you've build the strength.0 -
I am just starting too!
There is another thread on this called "How to start Heavy Lifting" which is super helpful: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1135900-how-to-start-heavy-lifting
One of the posters shared this link to the Stronglifts 5x5 Workout Summary, which is awesome: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/560459-stronglifts-5x5-summary
Another resource I came by today is this one, from Bodybuilding.com, called "5 Full-Time Fat Blasting Workouts" targeted at women--it gives a weekly breakdown of workouts with videos to show form! *^__^* http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/5_fat_loss_workouts.htm0
