Pre/post workout carbs while cutting

Hey,

Would appreciate some feed back for this!

Currently I wake up at 4:45am have a protein shake and almonds at 5am then hit the gym at 6am for an hour of weights and 20 mins HIIT.

7:30am I have another protein shake with dextrose as dont have time for a proper meal until 10am due to starting work at 8 am.

Anyway my question is I feel pretty weak during my workouts but been advised not to eat carbs pre workout.

Whats your opinions on this?

Im currently cutting and on a low carb diet with an intake of 90gC 70gF 203gP.

Thanks for any feed back it is most appreciated!

The majority of you energy comes from the daily feeding and spot meals seem much like trying to spot lose weight. If you're eating an overall deficit, the quality of your workouts will be impacted. Bigger the deficit, bigger the impact. Sleep and rest also play an important part. I chose a deficit over intensity in my workouts until I lost the majority of the fat I was targeting. Body has limits on how much change it will do. Choose priorities and stay consistent in your focus.

Well my strength coach who is also a RD suggests eating carbs as a preworkout snack. Brown rice cake with PB and Banana. Maybe try just a banana.

Whoever advised you to not eat carb pre-workout is clueless. Eat whatever you prefer and helps gym performance. Nutrient timing is largely irrelevant within a day.
