Anyone in South Africa?

My dad is living in South Africa - moved to Johannesburg last year - and I want to send him a Christmas present but don't really trust sending him something physically (besides shipping from Canada being prohibitively expensive).

Is there anyone on here from South Africa? If so, do you know of any decent online stores where I could get him a gift card - he likes books, home hardware stuff, music, etc.

I know I could use amazon.com but my budget is limited and I wouldn't want to stick him with big shipping and/or custom/duty charges so something in-country would be fantastic.

I also googled but I'd really appreciate someone telling me of a site/company/store they personally like or can vouch for as being good.

    Have you tried Kalahari.com? It is supposed to be South Africa's main online store.
