Plateau just starting out

I started out at 210 lb, currently i am 205, the scale hasnt moved in 5 days, In the past when I started a workout regimen I always lost alot of weight in the beginning but not this time.. I'm not discouraged since I love crossfit, I do one WOD a week and do Olympic lifting twice a week, and one day upper body and another lower body at the regular gym, I lift as heavy as my body will let me... Everyday I do cardio...
I eat clean everyday, brown rice salmon or chicken, eggs, avocado, that's practically it. I'm starting to reduce my carbs to only half a cup of brown rice and the rest protein.. idk what else to do...
I consume between 1300 to 1400 cals.

Five days doesn't mean a plateau.
Stall for more than a month and then maybe....
hard to offer advice at this point without seeing your diary. If you could make it public, that would help.
Meanwhile - sounds like a big workout load - what's your daily calorie goal and do you meet it? Are you taking rest days? How long has it been since you started out?
Edit: Just saw that you added your daily goal. Don't know how tall you are, but for the amount of workouts you do and your current weight, 1300-1400 cals doesn't sound like enough food to fuel all that! Do you eat your exercise cals back?0 -
I take offense to calling a 5 day stall a plateau.
Try 8 months.0 -
5 days isn't a plateau and if you've taken on a bunch of extra working out you're probably storing water for muscle repair. Relax and quit weighing yourself every day.0

I am equally as frustrated. I feel you! For three days, I've gained a little. Now up to a pound. And I've been working out every day 1 - 2 hours a day, mostly cardio but also weights. I think I'm not eating enough calories. Perhaps you aren't either. It's maddening to work that hard and then gain anything or in your case stay the dame. I know it's only a pound, but I had hoped to lose, not gain, for all I've been doing. Perhaps I lost inches? I haven't measured myself. Have you measured? Maybe your body is redistributing or something. I'm not sure. Hopefully, the scale moves for both of us soon!0

To the PP, if you are gaining weight, your problem is NOT that you are not eating enough calories. If you continue to observe that trend, you may want to evaluate how accurately you are tracking your calories to ensure that enough of a deficit exists.
To the OP - please open your diary so we can help. Are you eating back your exercise calories?0 -

Yeah, that last bit, the "oh yeah, I eat x number of calories per day"? That's the thing that's actually important. :flowerforyou:
You've been focusing on exercise and "eating healthy", which is nice, I guess, but not if your goal is to lose weight. Those are lovely, admirable lifestyle changes. But if the goal is to lose weight, your calorie limit is the only thing that's going to do that. It sounds to me like you're not paying enough attention to that equation. Because if you were paying the proper attention to that equation, it would be abundantly clear to the rest of us and to you, because the number on the scale would be going down.0 -
Patience.. Patience..0

This exactly, if you are actually experiencing a plateau. But seeing as it has only been 5 days, you are not. If this continues for a month or more, revisit your calorie intake and figure out if you're actually logging accurately.0 -
5 days isn't a plateau...weight loss isn't a linear function...you don't lose X lbs per week exactly...it is a general trend over weeks and months that averages out to be roughly X Lbs per week when it's all said and done.0

A plateau is generally considered to be at least 4-6 weeks without movement on the scale. 5 days is well within the normal fluctuations you're going to see. Sometimes the body takes some time to adjust. Give it another week or two before you adjust anything.0
