Best Exercises to Burn Cal w/Leg Injury

At about 3 miles into a long run, I sprained my ankle flexor muscle and can't exercise it for over a week. I'm interested in knowing what others do when injured to make up the daily calorie burn loss from not being able to use your legs to exercise?
I've been using upperbody cardio krank equipment but am interested in any other ideas from the collective wisdom of MFP folk?

If you have a local pool, water exercises would probably be okay.0

I just adjust my diet to compensate for reduced exercise.0

Swimming, as long as you can flutter kick a bit. Or even being in the pool, taking weight off the ankle. Maybe a good question for a doctor though.0
