I read a thread a few down and thought it might be a good idea to start a thread for people who have started to, or who have been plateaued for while. Share ideas, give support, help each other through ![:) :)](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Anyone pleateaued?
what have you found to be successful in helping push through?
Yay support!

I started my weight loss journey in September, and since then I've plateaued zero times. So maybe I'm not the best person to ask about plateaus. Oh wait, I AM.0

i think there should be a permanent section for this in Mfp
and people should really tell what finally worked for them.
but a thread idea is good as well.0 -
If you plateau (ie, don't lose weight for more than 6 weeks), you're eating too much. Which means you're not logging accurately, usually because you're not weighing your food, or you're eating too many exercise calories back.

A plateau means you're at maintenance for your weight. You have to really watch your food intake and your exercise at that point because something is out of whack. I could tell you that I've been on a plateau for 3 years now because that's how long I've been maintaining my weight.0

Yes add me please! It's been about 4 months and I've lost NOTHING! The first 80 or so pounds seem to come off pretty quickly but now it's been a huge struggle. I talked to a personal trainer at the gym and he has given me some wonderful advice so I'm trying a few new things with strength training so I am hoping to see some changes soon! Would love to hear others opinions too!0

I did plateau, even though it can be hard to tell at the very slow rate of loss I've chosen. It turns out it was probably from getting 100% serious about my weightlifting routine. The first 6-7 weeks of that messed with the scale weight. That's fine
To be fair, I did also start adding in about 1 day a week eating at maintenance or just above. Did that move the scale in the right direction? Would it have happened anyway? Dunno
My total calories for the week are the same (some weeks) to a little lower (about half the weeks) after adding in that day. I find the 'lower' part interesting! I'm just not as hungry most days with one day a week of getting full0
