I LOVE roasted sweet potatoes. Are they healthy?

I peeled and cubed 2 sweet potatoes, tossed them with olive oil, honey, cinnamon, and salt, and roasted them. They are SO GOOD. Are these healthy to eat often or are they somehow secretly bad for me?

    Do they fit in your calorie goals - did you include all the oil, honey, etc in your calorie counts? Do they still fit in your calorie goals? If yes then eat them. Sweet potatoes are delicious and have all kinds of healthy goodness. I usually wouldn't have the calories to eat 2 and with all those toppings, but dang that sounds yummy! I might have to try them that way on Thanksgiving.

    Define healthy cause you will get a bazillion of different type of answer.

    For me healthy is something that fits into my calories and macros.

    Sweet potatoes are an excellent filling vegetable, honey,oil and salt.......hmm not so saintly.
    However, if you've logged them and they fit into your day then go for it! Pizza and Ben and Jerry's ice cream can never be considered "healthy" food but I make sure I fit some in every couple of weeks. :wink:

    I'm on a sweet potato kick right now-every morning I slice one up (thin, like American fries), drizzle with a bit of oil and then top with cinnamon sugar and salt. Bake until just turning crispy-pure awesomeness! I'm contemplating having another one for supper tonight :love: This morning I skipped the oil and then used regular Hidden Valley ranch dressing as a dip with them-so good and around 300 calories total :)
