No, we have Christopher Popinkins and his sister Christina Popinkins (I have a son and a daughter). They just hide every night.

Elf on a shelf is creepy....He's always watching. Like a stalker.

I tried, but it's far too much work.

He has to be in a different spot each day and you can't touch him...boo.

True. The whole thing is probably an NSA conspiracy to prepare the next generation for the surveillance state.

Once I found out what it was, I decided to stop being so snobbish about it and learn more. And I cannot WAIT for us to get an Elf this year - it sounds like such a good idea!

My only wish is that I could keep her up year round!

    No.

And anyone who subjects their children to this horrible thing should have the authorities called on them.

Honestly I really don't like lying to me kids even about things like Santa, the tooth fairy, etc. I do it because yeah, joy of being a kid and all that, but I don't like it. So I don't need to add another physical element to the lie. (And really I'm not judging people that use it, this is my own issue, no one elses', probably stems from the fact that my mother made stuff up ALL the time).

Many teachers I work with use one at school lol, the kids absolutely love it, and they behave better when the darn creepy thing is sitting there, so I'm in favor of the elf regime lol

I'm with the folks who find it creepy.

I also find it unsettling that the whole idea of the thing is essentially blackmailing kids into behaving. The elf is watching you. He/She reports to Santa Every. Single. Night.

Also ain't nobody got time for that.
