How the heck did I get Hip Flexor Bruises?

I did a quick scan and didn't see any questions like this so here goes.

I just started taking a bag/boxing/kick boxing class and am on my 8th class 8. Last night I though i was going to fall out during class because of cramping on the top/front of my hips. I stretched with a belt before class/normal stretches after class and this morning I have two fist size bruises on what I believe are my hip-flexor muscles.

Any feedback on how that may have occured? We didn't do any kicks last night and I don't think lunges alone would have done this?

Thanks!

I get bruises there from doing BB bridge lifts-

    and running into tables.

those are the only two things I can think of off the top of my head.

I had some major issues with my hip flexors cramping when I did the Avon Walk last month. I ended up with bruises because I was pressing my fingers and thumbs in the cramping muscles trying to relieve some of the tension. But then I also bruise very easily.
  • This is going to sound really really weird but I had a best friend who had the following experience....

Did you recently have sex with a skinny/thin man whose hips are easily felt/visible? That has the potential to bruise you....

You don't actually have to answer that, just putting it out there as a reason.....

    Thanks guys :).

No no, s.e.x. injury on this one, but it may have been me pressing to stop the cramping. I had some major knots going on yesterday. Guess more stretching and Tiger Balm to stay ahead of this.

Do a google search for hip flexor stretches - especially yoga ones. That should reallllly help. It helped mine.

    Here's a search I just did
    https://www.google.com/search?q=hip+flexor+strain&oq=hip+flex&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0l5.3502j0j7&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#es_sm=93&espv=210&q=hip+flexor+stretches

I remember the first time I did shin kicks on a bag...the next day both shins looked like someone continuously punched them from my ankle to my knee...but I also bruise easily. Luckily that's stopped...
