daily calorie goal

Hi everyone, I only just signed up with myfitnesspal yesterday. My brother uses it religiously and has had great results so he set me up an account. I'm a bit confused about the daily calorie goal. I'm currenlty about 75kg and would like to get down to about 68kg. I exercise a few times a week, mostly at the gym, eat pretty well but am slowly gaining weight (about 3kg this year) and I'm not sure why. My daily calorie goal (to lose weight) is 1510 calories however, I'm averaging about 864 calories per day just because I don't eat all that much. I don't want to increase my calories to reach my goal as I do not want to gain weight but don't want to reduce it further as I will have no energy and be eating barely anything. Can anyone help me with this. I'm really confused. Should I be eating more or less? Any advice would be great

You need to be eating at least 1200 calories minimum.0

If you're gaining weight then you're eating more than 864 calories a day. Do you weigh everything you eat? Sounds to me like you're eyeballing portions and your guestimations are way out so you're eating much more than you think. I'd suggest buying a food scale!0

are you weighing everything and just measuring your liquids? Are you using generic entries or do you create your meals yourself?
If you have the energy to exercise a few times a week and go about with your daily life as normal and you don't have a eating disorder or a metabolic disease, chances are you are not averaging 900 calories a day. You are not logging correctly and probably eating more then you think.

^^ this. If you ARE eating 864 cals, you would be losing weight unless you have a major hormonal problem (probably not) or you are binging on days and erasing that deficit you had earlier in the week.0 -
Make sure at least 30% of your darily calories are coming from protein. 1500 calories for someone who lifts weights is still pretty low for weight loss. I wouldn't go below 1500.0
