sodium and water weight question

Hi!
There are quite a few topics on here concerning water weight gain, but I am having a difficult time finding something that matches my question.
So yesterday I ate, accidentally, 2x my allotted sodium intake, (thanks to some vegan pizza I had for dinner.) I have lost 3lbs, but I get on the scale today and see that I have gained 2lbs in a few days! Obviously this is water weight, but is 2lbs of excess water likely based on that much extra sodium?
I was really proud of that 3lb weight loss and I think that it will shift back to what it was within a day or two, but I would really love some reassurance that it WILL go back down, and input of others similar experiences.

Once you flush it out in a day or two you will be fine. Just drink plenty of water in the meantime0

A litre of water weighs a kilogram, by definition.
So a pint is roughly a pound. You retained 2 pints, or 2 good pee's. That's all. Not much.0 -
Sounds normal. Carbs can affect water weight too. It might take a few days depending on your diet and exercise. There's nothing wrong with water weight; remember that some of your initial three pounds was also probably water weight.0
