I stepped on the scale today, and I hit a mini goal. I'm at 180 now! Woo Hoo! I said I'd buy some new clothes, like, full on shopping trip with the girls when I got under 180;. OK, so that needs to be budgeted into the next check, but here's why I posted today:

READY???

I decided to make a skirt today out of some scrap material I had laying around. I'm teaching myself to sew, so it's jut a simple paneled skirt. The top of the panels are supposed to be 5 inches long. So, knowing I have a 40 inch waist, that means I need 8 panels plus 1 extra to take for seam allowances and all that...knowing it will bunch quite a bit on the elastic, but whatever, I'm an amature . Well, I measured my waist after seeing I only had enough for 8 panels. Guess what? I'm only at a 38 inch waist now! I only need the 8 panels. That means I can make the skirt after all! Woot!

Yay for losing, Yay for sewing! I can't wait until I reach goal and can sew myself up some awesome vintage patterns.

I figure I can learn to sew with crap fabric knowing I won't be wearing the stuff long and buy fabulous fabric when I'm thin and wear the fabulous things that are made better when I'm thin! Win, win!
