QUESTION?

Options
I would appreciate some input, please. I am 5' 4.5" and weigh 137.6#, and am 60 years old. I lost 13# with the low carb woe, but recently gained back 5#. My goal is 125#. I am thinking of just eating 1250 calories per day, which according to a few places I have checked, is what maintenance calories would be at 125#. (due to being very sedentary and of my age).
Any thoughts on this?
Thank You.

I'm 56, slightly shorter and 115 lbs. My BMR is 1194 and if I eat more than 1500 calories I gain so I think your numbers sound reasonable for loss but are actually your BMR rather than your maintenance number. BMR is the calories you need in a coma and I assume you move around more than that. You just have to make sure you get good nutrition in those calories which takes some planning. Lots of people will tell you that you need to eat more but they're generally much younger and much more active.

Yah no i don't think 1250 is maintenance....

And to be "very sedentary" you would have to be bedridden or never move.

losing weight is easy here....type in your goals...ie for you

125lbs, add in the other info say you want 1/2 a week and bam you have the calories you need to lose the weight.

Then when you get to your goal it tells you what you need to maintain.
