i stretched really well before my run specific stretch for that area due to feeling tightness after last time's "run". hope it helps. feels good now.0

PIRIFORMIS MUSCLE STRETCH
This stretch is very much like how American male sits cross-legged, only it’s done on the floor.
The piriformis muscles go through the pelvis socket along with the sciatica nerve. It is a constricted area, much like carpal tunnels in the wrist, and this stretch makes room for your nerves by making the muscles supple.
This stretch is nearly always necessary to relieve the pain along the sciatic nerve, and should be done on the floor, but you can also do it sitting if necessary.
1. Lie on the back with the legs bent and feet flat on the floor. Pull up a leg up toward the chest, and cross it over the other knee, just like a man sitting cross-legged. Stretch by locking your fingers behind the supporting leg, and also by moving the crossed leg away from the body. Feel the stretch. Do not force ankle or knee beyond stretch. Hold stretch for 30 seconds, then slowly return to starting position. Try to complete a set of three stretches, and then alternate legs."
