Confused On Where to Start

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and this page. I made an account 10 months ago but never even touched it. I am 18 years old, 19 in April and 5 feet 7 inches. I have always been overweight, and I was too scared to check my actual weight. Today i finally did it. I weigh 210 pounds. This is a real wake up call. I would really like to loose about 50-60 pounds by July 1st. There is a big event coming up in my life that i want to feel good for. Can someone please tell me what i need to do. Yess i know restrict calories and exercise but what specifically? I am so confused. I have treadmill at home, and i have the insanity dvdd. Does insanity actually work for weight loss. Please someone help. I am motivated and determined to get my life on track.

You don't have to do anything specific. You don't have to eat special foods or do special exercises. You only need to maintain a deficit. Do your best to maintain the goal MFP gives you, and if you exercise, eat your exercise calories back. It's pretty simple.

Recommended: Digital Food Scale (for portion accuracy) and, if you're going to exercise, purchase a heart rate monitor (with chest strap).

    And lastly, read this:

Also, do not allow yourself to be discouraged by one bad eating day. Hold yourself accountable and strive to remain within your caloric goals the next day. You've got this!
