Leg Pain

Last week I had pain in both my quads (which I've never had before) so I thought it might be due to me needing new shoes. I got new running shoes, and all seemed well. About a week later, I started having pain in my calves (also something I've never experienced before). During yesterday's run, I had to stop after 4 miles because the pain was just too much (ALSO something I've never had to do ~ stop running due to pain). I still have pain in both calves but mostly the left one. The pain originally started as a dull ache like the beginning of a Charlie Horse. Now the pain seems to move around from behind my knee to the arch of my foot. Has anyone experienced this kind of leg pain before? I thought maybe dehydration? Anyway, I'm really freaking out about this pain because I have a Half Marathon next weekend.

The reason I thought dehydration is because I have pain in both legs (tho mostly the left). Would it be unusual to injure both legs at once? Also the pain has been traveling around for over a week now. It's very odd and extremely frustrating. Has anyone had anything similar to this problem before?

Joanna, I know you're not a novice and you know I don't run, I'm sure you've researched this but, I found this:

I don't know if this pertains to your problem. I hope you find the solution and are up and running soon.

Thanks Kathy! I read the article and none of the symptoms sound exactly like what I have. I ruled out shin splints (I've had that before). It doesn't sound like an Achilles problem. Maybe it's tendonitis of some sort? I think it's strange both legs are suffering at the same time. However, the left calf is actually sore to the touch. I can't tell you how depressed I am right now. :indifferent:
