Calorie allowance

I am transgender and recently transitioned , I had a look at my old profile and it said I was allowed 1580 calories
I created my new profile entering same details only thing that was different was I put female, the calorie allowance was 120 calories less , which figure would I use ?

The lesser, you'll lose more if it's wrong anyway. Are you on hormones too? I'd go with the female ones in that case, too.

You need to ask your doctor. I'd think you'd go with the female one if you've had the surgery and take the hormones, but i'm no doctor.

Men generally have greater physical muscle mass and body frame than women so normally need more calories. I don't have a great understanding of how the hormones that you would have been taking would have affected that. So I would suggest starting at the higher amount and give it a couple of weeks and see if you are losing if not you can always lower it then. The problem with going with the lower amount is you may end up hungry and more likely to fail with your goals

You could try the lower number, and if it's too restrictive at first try the original number and see if you're still losing weight. Give it a week or two. Hormones can definitely have an impact on how our bodies use/store energy so it may be a bit of trial and error.

    Also, congratulations! :)

    Yes indeed, congratulations :)

I'd go with the lower for a while and see how you go, if you are losing too much to fast (is there such a thing?!) then maybe have the extra cals.
