My 9th year of weight issues

Hello, I'm Melina.. newbie here... and I've lurked on various health sites through the years but have never actually committed myself to any. So here we go!
I'm 24, and my weight battle journey began at 15 going on 16 when I was at 200lbs (I'm 5'7"). During my junior year of high school, I got down to 150lbs, then shot back up to the 180lbs after my way too constrictive diet ended. Dropped out halfway through junior year and started working at Subway, which 6 months into it I thought "I work at Subway! Why am I still overweight?!", got my weight down into the 140s, met my boyfriend, drank too much, got into the 150s, got pregnant, went up to 175lbs, got back down into the 150s afterwards, ate myself into a coma, went into the 160s, dieted, went back into the 140s and so on.. vicious cycle. Earlier this year I managed to get to 130 while my boyfriend and & split up for a while, then we got back together, and now I'm back to 150lbs. I'm a stay at home mom taking college courses online, so usually the only activity I get is playing with my 3 year old daughter or cleaning. I also hate exercising, so even when I was in the 130s I still jiggled! I'm hoping to learn how to eat right -- not diet. Granted, I've kept a few health habits automated while not dieting; wheat bread, 1% milk, and no mayo on sandwiches are constant. It's definitely harder to maintain weigh loss rather than lose it in my opinion.
I'm hoping to connect with others with similar situations, and I love reading about other people's journeys and triumphs. Looking forward to getting healthier with you all

Hi Melina, welcome to MFP...many nice people on here. I can;t say I have gone through all the things you list, but I totally agree about maintaining the weight once lost. Feel free to add me, and I will do my best to support you on your journey!0

I"ve never really yo-yoed or anything (my weight all came on as a result of university and then getting pregnant after graduating and compounded by a lack of interest in much exercise), but I did start where you are now: 5'7", 200lbs. A few years older, but otherwise, stats are the same. I'm now 147 and roughly holding (though I've only been in transition to maintenance for about three weeks now). In any event, IT CAN BE DONE!
You can friend me if you like, or just take heart from the fact that someone else has been there and got down0
