Women and Weights

Hi all!
I was just wondering whether there was anyone out there who doesn't necessarily do Crossfit but does lots of weights at the gym?
I do a lot of clean and jerks, deadlifts, starting with chin ups, lots of kettlebell complexes etc
I am looking for motivational friends who lift as well so we can cheer each other on, as most of MFP friends mostly do cardio only.
Anyone out there like that?
Cheers!

I do circuit training and just bought some heavier weights. I would love to try crossfit but they would probably have to carry me out of the gym lol.0

I lift heavy with my trainer. No crossfit for me.
Add me as a friend if you want.
I dont eat clean all the time though. Actually I probably only eat clean 1/2 the time. I still lose weight at a rate of at least 1 lb a week. (only have 2 more to go before I start maintenance!!!)0 -
I lift heavy but also love running as I'm legally blind and feels like freedom to me!0
-
I lift heavy 4-5 days a week. Not so much on the free weights, but definitely more a lifting girl than cardio.0

In for lifting heavy things ★0

I like women who lift.
I can't get Mrs. Clause to do it though, she's scared of being bulky.0 -
Me! I lift heavy and I love every single second of it! My favs are squats & dead lifts. Last week I was able to dead lift 175lbs for 2 sets of 5 reps. Squats I'm still trying to increase past 135lbs.0

Anyone feel free to add me!0 -
I'm new to the lifting side of things and have quite a few injuries that stop me from going too hard to fast, but I am focussing a lot more on weights than cardio this time around and building up my strength and enjoying it too so feel free to add me0

Hi,
I enjoy a variety of workouts - typically I alternate between running or the elliptical and on alternating days i work with weights / cardio. I also use a circuit gym - specifically following my elliptical workouts. Everything that I've read indicates that some type of workouts with weights is a necessity as we age... & I just turned 40. In short, I don't do Crossfit, but I do try to include weight training 3 to 4 times a week.
Feel free to friend me.
Take care,
Crystal0 -

Ha ha ha I would be the same, I had a look at the pricing for it and its expensive!!!!!! nearly $200 per month!!!!! So I have a personal trainer who does a lot of that type of stuff which is fantastic0 -

That's awesome!!!!! I love dead lifts too! this morning I dead lifted 77kgs (170pounds) 3 sets of 5 and I also love clean and jerks, over the next few weeks we will be working on my front squats and one day I want to do a full pull up!0 -

Thanks everyone who has responded, please feel free to add me It's great to see how many of you are out there, most of the women at the gym just jump on the elliptical or treadmil (I'm too uncoordinated for the elliptical ha ha ha) and I'm just hanging out in the "Ga-Douche" section (for some of you, then "mens" weight lifting section) Ha ha ha0

don't mix?0

I love that you call it Ga-Douche section. I always feel like a beast when I'm the only girl working out with the guys though.0 -
I love deadlifting too. I don't do a lot of kettlebell, but my trainer has me do them sometimes. I too have some injuries that impact the lifts I choose to do, but I love lifting big stuff. My husband and I are gearing up for a stone-lifting trip to Iceland, in fact, so I lift atlas stones once a week too. I lifted our 150# one a dozen times last week! Now I just need to be able to lift it without tacky (sticky stuff you put on your arms and hands, and then start working on getting that 200 pounder off the ground! Oh yes, it will be mine! :laugh:0

Plenty of sexy ladies on here do that stuff....
Look up fivethreeone, that is a person that comes to mine....
I have some sexy ladies on my FL that do weights, like Lori and Naomi, to name a couple.0 -
Can you recommend a good kettle bell workout as I have purchased two of them.0

I do heavy weightlifting 3-5 days per week. I always enjoy connecting with others that lift weights!0

I lift 4 days a week & love it. I do mostly compound lifting & am getting more into the Olympic lifting which I'm very excited about.0

Hey,
What size did you get? Also, have you used them before, as technique is critical, I know a few people who have hurt themselves doing it without a professional - I have a PT who has taught me the correct movements. I will message you some of the things that I do There are also a few also on Pinterest as well (I love Pinterest!!!!! It's my go-to for food and motivation)0
