Help me figure this out!

Hello,
Please help me figure this out...
I'm female, 29, 54.5". Not sure my body fat %. I follow the Body for Life eating plan, for the most part. (Lately have had some holiday indulgences)
I have spent the last 4 months slowly working on my knee pushups, planks, and squats. I do these body weight exercises twice a week. For cardio, I walk or lightly jog 2-3 times a week for 30 minutes.
I know I have gained strength, because I went from doing 3 knee pushups to currently 15 (2 sets) - and feeling strong while doing them. I went from 12 squats to 22 squats w/ 8lb medicine ball (2 sets). I went from doing a REALLY difficult plank to getting much stronger at it. I can carry my bike up a few flights of stairs now, whereas before I could not. My waist and muffin top areas are the same measurements as when I started all this (30" waist and 35" navel/muffintop area), I still wear size 8 pants, but I went from 137 (I've weighed this since about high school) to 142 pounds since doing strength exercises progressively- this has got to be muscle, right???
I love feeling stronger and being stronger, but would love to get my body fat % down as well. Do I just need to keep doing what I'm doing, since more muscle mass will help burn calories in the long run? Or is there another secret?

I am no expert in this area , but I do believe the gain in water , used my your muscles for repair ...when I started p90x there were weeks when I didn't lose anything but clothes fit differently....I suggest keep going , track calories, and yes more muscle will burn more calories down the road
chin up big changes are coming !
