Why do smoothie recipes call for filtered water?

The water where I live is good and odor free so its great to drink right from the tap. Why do recipes call for filtered water vs tap water?

Not everyone has great water. I have been to some rural towns that had some pretty nasty water, in which case, the smoothie would probably come out weird.

Not everywhere have great water, but mostly there have been a push to make people either buy bottled water or expensive equipment to 'clean' your tap water.0
