    I don't know what tests were done. Doctors don't take me seriously, I do believe that. Even when I said, it was hard to lose weight before my daughter, but at least I could. If I go back and look at the results what would the hormones be under?

    If they tested Thyroid it would be listed as TSH - some labs have different names for their tests but you should be able to pick them up fairly easily. My doctor blew me off for 13 years (he just kept saying I was hypothyroid and nothing else) but turns out I have Hashimoto's AND a rare subacute thyroiditis - go figure.

    However, you can still lose weight with it (I am currently now that it is controlled - somewhat)
    I don't mean to eat out that much, but my problem is I am on the go all the time. My daughter is home schooled and so we are all over the place all week. I have decided that I have to stop this eating lunch at 3:30 thing. That can't be good. I need to figure out how to do that without eating out. I live in a very warm state, so even with a cooler I don't know if I would trust stuff in my car.

    As someone who works over 10 hours per day, has 3 kids, 3 dogs, 2 cats and husband - it can be done. I weigh everything and pack my meals accordingly. Even during baseball/softball season (talk about on the go lol) I carry my cooler with me.. You just have to find out the easiest method for yourself. For me, I cook a bunch on Sunday and get it measured out for my week.
    I haven't been weighing my stuff this time, but I did in the past so I know roughly what a serving should be.

    That is a major problem. Doesn't take that long to weigh it in grams and get an accurate measurement. I know it isn't perfect but I feel pretty comfortable in my intake.

    As far as some radical diet - unless you have an intolerance, then don't deny anything just make it fit into your day. :)

    I think you need to try again. Set yourself a reasonable goal of losing 1 lb a week, and weigh and log everything you eat. If you still haven't lost anything in 2 months, go see a specialist to have your thyroid and hormones checked.

    I agree with others. LOG every single bite that goes into your mouth, every single day.

    I've been in between 240-270 for almost my entire life - since about age 16-36. My weight spiked up to 307 once but came back down pretty easily with exercise and barely changing my diet. HOWEVER, it felt like no amount of exercising or trying to eat healthy would get my body below 260 in my thirties. It was VERY frustrating. ESPECIALLY when I started dating my now-husband and followed his healthy eating habits and saw very little improvement in my weight. Or when I stopped eating beef etc, and friends doing that lost 50+ lb quickly and I lost like 7 lb in 5 months with a MAJOR dietary change.

    I also remember in high school believing there was something really, really amiss with my health and/or metabolism as some weeks I would eat tons of fast food, cookies by the bag, etc, and weigh 237 and then eat salads and skip a few meals and weigh 241. I started to believe that for me it didn't matter if I ate healthy or not because I was still going to be fat and not lose weight normally. I believed that for years.

    But seriously...despite all of this, MFP worked for me. I have been doing it since March 25, 2013 and have lost EXACTLY 1.57 lb per week averaged out. Even though some weeks I didn't lose any weight or just 1 lb, it averages out to the 1.5 lb loss that MFP "claims" for me...I am a believer. Give it a shot and just do not give up!!

    Try to avoid processed food/restaurant food as much as possible. They contain a TON of sodium and will contribute to water retention. Try to eat more fruit and vegetables to increase your fiber intake. Hope this helps!

    Hi there Ali! Definitely the food. If you're eating the correct portions and foods, the weight will come off with or without exercise. Calculate your BMR and TDEE (like the other posters are telling you to do!) and take 20% off your TDEE. You are probably not logging everything and if you are, you may not be honest with your portions. Track consistently and without judgment for two weeks. Every day. Everything you eat. Everything that goes in your mouth!! :) Then take a look back. You might be surprised.

    After that two weeks, if you start to 1) eat out less 2) watch your sugars 3) watch your sodium and stick to your calories and make sure your portions are accurate, you should see results.

    IF you don't after religiously weighing and logging your food and staying with your calories, then bring your food logs to your doctor. But based on your diary, I think you are seriously underestimating the calories in your food.

    OK, I made it public. I was eating very clean for months, but I gave up.

    I have had a bad few days. I ate a wrap because I thought it would be "better" and I was off for instance. But my calories are still decent.

    My husband has lost 30lbs since May, and I just want to cry, because nothing is happening for me. We are both eating and doing the same things, though he is eating a heck of a lot more than me!
    I know I don't have the diary to back me up, but I followed the Wheat Belly diet for months and the scale did not budge. When I was down to like 600 calories I was losing hair by the handful. That is what freaked me out into eating again.

    Eating clean means nothing. You can eat too much 'clean' food just as easy.

    Count.Calories. Log.Religiously. Weigh.Everything.Don't over estimate your exercise burn.

    Hi there-log every single bite-and be patience with yourself-I myself lost a total of 94 pounds I wrote every thing down from day 1-it could be your hormones-when you track you can see a pattern- believe you can do it-I have been at 214 pounds so I know how that feels-so for me it was about keeping track-for me I did take 1-2 pounds aweek off-but everyone is different-I myself use to judge myself by the scale-so today I use portion control-and watch your sodium level-weigh your self same time of the day-and when you workout try different things-as your bosy gets use to same thing all the time- you may see a difference-good luck in your weight lose journey-I lost that 214 pound person-so remember you can do it- you are worth it-thanks for being so honest-hope this helps:)

    I'd try bumping up your calories to like 2000 for a few weeks (ideally with some good protein like grilled chicken breast, lite tunafish, turkey, etc) and see if anything changes. If you're accurately logging, it seems like your calories are pretty low.

    Who knows though. Some people swear you can eat 500 calories a day and you'll lose weight and some people swear if you go below your BMR your body will go into starvation mode.

    But according to your logs I'd say you are pretty certainly on the too low side if anything.
