insanity weight loss help

ok so today was the last day of week 2 of insanity. i started at 162.4 lbs and i am now 162 lbs. so i guess my question is ,how come i havent lost any weight? is it because im building up muscle? will the muscle burn the fat afterwards?

i do not want to track my calories.when i do this i think that i can have what ever as long as its under my daily calories. what im doing is eating 5 small healthy meals a day like the plan says. i have been going by the included meal plan and using thos recipes.
i quit alot of bad habits i had before.
i stopped the soda
i stopped the pasta
no chocolte or candy
no white flours
i only eat salads when i go out
only drink water0 -
I actually only use the calorie tracker because I find that when left to my own eating I eat far less than I need to be! I do CrossFit 5 days a week and can say that it took me many many months before my weight fluctuated (5'3" female, 116lbs) and when it finally did... it went up! After 9 months of CrossFit I now weigh 120lbs but my BMI is so so so much lower.
To answer your question, part of it depends on what your build already is. If you have a lot to lose you should be losing weight more rapidly, but if you're in the "normal" BMI range or only very slightly on the heavy side of it you may not see much for actual weight changes. This is due to your body putting on muscle that happens to be a comparable amount of weight to the fat you are burning!
It sounds to me like your eating habits are good, though if you want my honest advice I would continue to eat exactly how you eat but track the calories to make sure you're eating ENOUGH (If you find yourself being hungry, and you're drinking enough water, your body probably needs more calories). But then again, the people who put together those diets know what they're talking about and odds are they would account for enough calories for your activity. Hope I helped in someway!0 -
with the insanity diet i find that im never really hungry. i sometimes have to force myself to eat that protein bar for a snack. but my build isnt exactly the best . im 5 foot and weigh 162 lbs so you could say im over the heavier side. thats why i started this. and all i drink is water now.i have alot of weight to lose. i read that a healthy weight for me would be around 120. i can see some difference with the program. my stomach seems to be a little smaller (not much though) and my legs are getting more defined. its just disappointing to work and sweat that hard for no change on the scale.I actually only use the calorie tracker because I find that when left to my own eating I eat far less than I need to be! At least you're seeing the differences in your body! That's a great sign
Try not to hold the scale to too much importance (I know, easier said than done) because you really might just be putting on a lot of muscle. Remember that muscle burns more calories than fat, so in time you'll start to see weight come off as that muscle starts melting your fat stores away!
You've made an awesome step toward getting healthier and I'm excited and proud for you! Try to focus on how you feel, how you look, and especially celebrate when your clothes start falling off you! The scale can be a helpful guide, but it really fails when you aren't just losing weight by starving yourself. If you haven't yet... get a "before" picture of yourself and save that for a couple months down the road, take it out if you ever find yourself discouraged and look at all the differences!

I disagree, it put on 5lb in the first 2 weeks of insanity, just because of water weight from the high intensity exercise.... I lost fat, but the scales didnt show it!0 -
I started Insanity at 145 and when i completed it i weighed 146 but less body fat, im going to do program again amd follow the diet plan this time as i struggle to.eat 1500 cal and think i need to eat a bit more . Will just have to force some snacks down lol0

I too disagree. After 2 weeks of insanity I was up .5 lbs and at the beginning of week 4 I shed that plus a pound which proves I was accurately measuring and weighting my foods (I’m set to lose a half pound or less per week). The high intensity causes me to hold onto a lot of water weight and that very well might be what is happening to you.
ETA: I went hard on pure cardio last night and lo and behold I'm back up another pound. Oy!0 -
