is rice bad for weight loss???

i have rice for lunch, and i track it in MFP to stay below calorie goal...

my friend says regardless of calories, rice is bad for weight loss, even if i end up below my calorie goal for the day.

is it so???

Wrong. Losing weight is up to calories in vs out. Enjoy your rice, ignore the friend ;)

Did your friend give any reason for that conclusion? Like a science based one?

Agree with other poster. All about number of calories. Enjoy!

    Your friend is an idiot.

For simple weight loss it's as simple as staying UNDER your TDEE. There's no rocket science involved and carbs are NOT bad despite what people say. People who stay away and are scared of carbs have no idea about nutrition.

You come up with the most random conclusions based on minimal variables.

Also I don't know what kind of rice you're eating but if you're eating the lightly processed brown rice types, maybe they're actually good for weight loss...objectively.
