Asthma triumph!

Last spring I ran I 5K for the first time and it nearly killed me: the weather was so cold, wet, and windy - and I pushed so ridiculously hard - that I was having constant asthma attacks for the next 2-3 days.

I'm doing my second 5K on Nov. 30th, so I've been trying to walk/run outdoors to get my lungs used to the cold. This morning I did my last long run before the race: 3 miles in 39 minutes flat while it was only about 13 degrees outside! That's not only my coldest run but my fastest for that distance -- and I didn't want to collapse afterward!

To the extent that I can run ("running" is still walk/run intervals), I can indeed run in the cold. Take that, asthma!
