Multiple system approach.....

I guess most people on here use some sort of calorie control. I know this is a fantastic tool for that. I also like to use the odd fast day so I'm with the 5:2. I think there is something to be said for Paleo. Should we cut down on meat.... in particular red meat. Should we all juice? I hope someone here gets a flavor for what I'm asking. Some diet systems complement each other while some conflict. So what's your system or systems and why. There's a heap of systems out there and the goal I guess is no longer just to lose weight.

as you know i follow eat to live for the most part,, but for me its more than losing weight. its about eating healthy and listening to my body and keeping inflammation down and my ulcerative colitis in remission.. as far as calories i don't have the patience to count calories.. that's why i like the way i eat . other than measuring my fats like nuts, avocados. i don't worry about portions. i eat whole foods and eat until im comfortable.. not full.. once in awhile i may use the three bite rule and have something off plan, but i really love making my own foods, another good plan if you want to break in more gently to whole foods is the fat smash.. i did it awhile back.. its all about finding what works for you.. listening to your body, but i feel so much better nourishing my body instead of eating things that makes it feel miserable.. if something makes you feel bad after eating it. is it really worth it.. im fighting this concept now with cereal.its a trigger food but i feel so bloated after eating it.. it all comes down to bio individuality.. finding what works for your body.. not comparing yourself to others, but doing what you need to for you.0

I do strongly agree with the last line....
What works for me can be a moving target.... sometimes I like Intermittent fasting....
Best plans for me tend to be low cal... low fat... low GI...
Don't worry I think there is a lot to be said for Eat Raw, Eat Fresh.... Non processed.
There are times for aerobics and times for strenght training.
In my case there are times of procrastination.... in those instances I need.
Heaps of understanding...then...
I need a massive kick up the butt...0 -
Ultimately it boils down to doing whatever is sustainable for you. While eating a deficit is the only necessary method to lose weight, virtually any program with certain restrictions will work provided that you can adhere to them.
So if you like your odd fasted day, go for it. Enjoy not eating grains and peanuts, then Paleo is fine.0 -
Very true... its all about what can I maintain....0
