Scanning on Phone not showing up on Food Diary

Hi All....very new to MFP. Love the scan option. So here is my problem. I am scanning on my Smart Phone...it registers....I click add....and it never shows on my lunch...what am I doing wrong?

The only thing I can think of is if you are using "multi add" and just adding it to the list of things to add and then going back (without actually adding the list to your diary).
