New to MFP

Hi,

My name is Andrew and I stumbled upon this site looking for tips on how to use swimming as a way of losing weight. I am about 190 lbs, 5'9 and looking to loose about 15 pounds (to start) and then go from there. I am a 27 year old law student, about to become a lawyer, and decided it was time to finally take control of my own health and weight.

I have been bouncing around the site a little bit and reading people's success stories, hoping I will soon be able to join you with my own (you are all a great inspiration to me). I have always been overweight (since I was a kid), despite being somewhat active. But, I have never really focused on working out or what I eat, and I am hoping that doing these things helps. My plan is to swim at least a half hour 5+ times a week and pay attention to what I am eating. I am hoping to surprise people when I go home for x-mas by looking trim. Anyways, add me as a friend, since I don't have any, and I am looking forward to everyone's support on this journey.
