Eating Healthy Throughout December

Hey Guys, i was thinking about eating clean throughout the christmas season. I know during this time it is the hardest to stay faithful to clean eating with all the pork, turkey, eggnog etc as a temptation. However, this being my first vegetarian christmas i dont have to worry about the meat but no meat doesn't mean healthy eating either.
I plan to cut back on fats, consume low-calorie high protein foods and snacks, NO JUNK FOOD and stay dedicated to the gym 5 days a week AND balance school work due for january. I plan to loose at least 5 pounds maybe 10(I weigh 140)...how much i weigh doesn't concern me im more focused on how i look and i want my stomach punch and flabby arms gone. My thickish legs are pretty toned but they could be firmer.
I'm really doing this for the carnival season which basically starts after boxing day lol. Im from Trinidad & Tobago, carnival season is a really big part of our culture and i will be taking part in alot of events that require costumes , dance and physical fitness, you really can't get tired easily at these events lol. I know i can do anything i set my mind to......but im also thinking this is easier said than done. What do you guys think? Have any of you maintained clean eating during the holidays and if u did how so? What temptations did you face and how did u prevent yourself from giving in? Did you maintain daily exercise?
Any food recipes you would recommend ? I would like to know please and thank you

I give you credit in attempting this...I am nervous enough about forgoing a great portion of the holiday cookies and stuff that I normally eat. More power to you if you can do it..it frankly sounds a bit depressing....0

if you have a hand in the cooking it's easy- it's easy to manipulte what you eat.
if not - focus in one the things you CAN eat and load up heavily on those to fill yourself before reaching for other foods. I personally would just load up on meat- veggies then go for a moderate dessert. But you gotta do what works for you.
I can't imagine going through the holiday's as a veggie only eatier- but volunteer to cook as many basic dishes for events that you can- that you are willing to eat- not necessarily some goofy off the wall "new fangled paleo whatever" just something simple that you can eat that isn't crazy.
I would just do a lot more running- LOL kudo's to you if you stick with it!0
