big late breakfast/early lunch, ok?

Hello!

So I generally try to eat breakfast then randomly throughout the day, whenever I am hungry, sometimes 4 times a day and sometimes 8, just depends. But today I and my guy got a late start and went out for lunch without having breakfast. I was super hungry and ordered an enormous greek salad, (lettuce, olives, pepperoncini peppers, onion and tomatoes, no cheese and vinegar/oil dressing on the side.) It was really huge, but calorie-wise pretty reasonable, 500-600 calories and a roll.

I felt really good and energized the rest of the day and had a small dinner and haven't been obsessing about my calorie intake. Is this ok to start doing on a regular basis? I just always read and hear all this stuff about "eat throughout the whole day." I physically feel really good and mentally, much less stressed. Is it ok to have an enormous salad for brunch and just peck throughout the rest of the day? As long as it is healthy ect.

All advice/input/personal experience welcomed!

If you're eating enough calories, meeting your macros and not finding that you're starving between meals, do what works for you! I tend to eat a smallish breakfast and lunch then a larger dinner, because that works for me.

I do that quite often on weekends. For whatever reason I'm always hungry just as soon as I get to work, but on a weekend I can go till 1p without feeling that way.

As long as you're getting your calories, and are relatively healthy, it's up to you how you want to divide your meals up :)

meal frequency has little bearing as long as you are meeting your caloric intake needs and hitting your macros..... If I may ask what is your calorie goal each day??

    thanks everyone!

ed- I eat 1300 to lose weight without working out for 1lb a week. I try to workout for an hour 5x a week, doing either heavy cardio or moderate paced walking, so I usually eat 1500, but on "off" days it may be 2000, but then I end up working it off :) down 3lbs, should be 4lbs by tomorrow. I don't have much to lose, I'm 5'3 and a size 5 pants, but I want to see how I look at by 130lbs, then decide to keep going or not. just some background info!
