So every time I go to the gym, fitbit syncs with MFP. The problem is, I haven't been wearing my fitbit because I keep forgetting to charge it. So its someone else's fitbit I'm guessing. Has anyone had this happen? Not sure what to do here will unlinking even work? If so how do I do it?

Edited for premature submission!

I read a post from someone else on here whose Fitbit said they were burning 2500 calories a day when it was sitting at home not being worn... try unlinking and relinking it under 'Apps', but it could just be that it estimates calories for you even when it isn't being used!

If you haven't yet unlinked your fitbit ACCOUNT, the two programs are going to continue to sync. fitbit.com is going to estimate your calories and send them over to mfp.
If you're not planning to wear it, you might want to unlink them.

Fitbit estimates a calorie burn based on th activity level you set and assumes a linear burn throughout the day. It then adds on any activity/ exercise above this lowest level. So if it still has a charge and you have it set to auto sync when near your phone or computer then it could well be linking to your MFP account. I'd suggest unlinking it until you decide to wear it.

I agree. You can also turn off 'calorie estimation' in your Fitbit account and it'll just 'count' your BMR when not worn, which should mean no MFP issues.
