Two running NSVs

It's been a few days, but I wanted to share these anyways. Our local Turkey Trot 5k was on Saturday, and it was the first truly COLD day that I have run this fall (25 deg, 20+ mph winds). I got out some winter running clothes that I haven't worn since before I started to lose wieght, and the baselayer mockneck that was always tight around my neck isn't anymore, and the running pants that barely fit are now loose and comfortable. The pair that was too small to wear last winter are just a tiny bit snug now, and should fit great in a few weeks.

Secondly, I had my best 5k since that race 4 years ago! I wanted to beat my best time this year (38:10 in July), and I did, by exactly 3 minutes!!! It was also my 3rd fastest 5k ever. The weird part was that I ran 1:15/mile faster than my 10k six days prior to the 5k and the weather was much worse for the 5k. I even outsprinted someone 10 years younger while finishing into the wind. I'm still smiling :)
