5' 0" and 114 pounds...should I go on the 1200 calorie diet?

I know I'm relatively healthy for my height and weight but I really need to lose this belly fat and no amount of strength training seems to be helping. Should I go on the 1200 calorie diet to see results?

I wouldn't jump on a diet like that so suddenly. Not entirely sure what your current caloric intake should be but I would actually work with your current number and lower your intake by 200kcal/days. I'm also currently having issues with a layer of fat on my lower abs and lower back (love handles) and that's going to come from cleaner carbohydrate sources (brown rice, sweet potato and oats). Simple sugars are sabotaging0

Fat loss is not linear. Neither is weight loss. I wouldn't suggest just lowering calories suddenly or at all really. Just keep doing what you're doing and be patient. It didn't take you overnight to gain weight/fat, so it's not going to come off overnight.0

YOu have only been here a month, so you may be expecting stuff too quickly. But we know you are 19, 5'0 and 119 but what is your workout routine and do you have any medical issues? Also, do you weigh your food with a scale? And can you open your diary?0

For me maintenance is from 1610 to 1850 depending on activity level. So if I'm not very active a day that means that eating on a 300 calorie deficit will have me down to 1300 calories. So I get it. Personally, I did the 1200 calories diet for two weeks and now I have a fluid scale between 1300 and 1500 calories depending on activity (and right now I'm on a workout funk so I'm closer to 1300 then anything else on most days).
Edit: I'm 5'1"0
