    Home Alone!

Home Alone is a good one. The abuse that the burglars take is amazing! I like the blow torch to Joe Pesci's head, the paint cans to both burglars' heads, the nail in Daniel Stern's foot, as well as the searing hot door handle.
  • I take it you've seen it?? ;-)

The Muppet Christmas Carol. It's my Christmas movie. Michael Caine is the best Scrooge I've ever seen, the songs are beautiful (especially It Feels Like Christmas and When Love is Gone), and Gonzo working as the narrators really helps keep the feel of the book better than any other adaptation I've seen (even Rizzo doesn't bother me with his "Light the lamp, not the rat!"). Plus, you know, Statler and Waldorf as Jacob and Robert Marley are hilarious.

The first 2 you listed are a holiday "must". I also like "Elf" and "The Santa Clause" (the first one)

A really sweet story, that I don't think a lot of people are familiar with, is "Emmit Otter's Jug-band Christmas". It was one of my daughter's favorites when she was growing up.

Maybe I'm the only classics-lover here.... and I mean "classics" not this new-age stuff they try to call "classics"! :grumble:

    - It's A Wonderful Life
    - The Shop Around The Corner
    - Meet Me In St. Louis
    - Holiday Inn
    - White Christmas
    - Little Women
    - A Christmas Carol

My SIL and I just watched Christmas In Handcuffs last weekend and it was THE dumbest movie (besides Home Alone) that I've ever seen. It has that girl who played Sabrina in Sabrina the Teenage Witch. so ridiculous. :noway:

Elf is a cute movie though. :flowerforyou:

Christmas Vacation is my favorite. Love Actually is my #2

My fiance grew up in Hammond, IN so naturally, Christmas Story is his favorite.

    I love old movies:

    -White Christmas
    -Holiday Inn
    -Christmas in Connecticut
    -Meet Me in St. Louis
    -Bells of St. Mary's

    And then the others:

    -Olive the other Reindeer
    -A Charlie Brown Christmas
    -The claymation Rudolf and Frosty
    -How the Grinch Stole Christmas

I have hated A Christmas Story since I was a kid so I avoid that like the plague!
