Hidden Valley Ranch sounds good unless you read the ingredients and care about sodium or MSG.
Easy always comes with a price.0 -
I love ranch but it's obviously not in my diet plan. What are some healthy alternatives I can buy at the store (not make myself)?
P.S. I DON'T LIKE - balsamic, italian, blue cheese, thousand island, or honey mustard, or oil/vinegar.0 -
Get the Bolthouse farms yogurt ranch dressing. That stuff is delicious and only 45 calories for 2 tablespoons. I am a ranch fiend and I love that dressing!
This^^^^^^^ Bolthouse Farms Freakin Rocks.0 -
Salsa, or salsa mixed with ranch, lighten it up a bit. I find if I measure out salad dressing which is usually 2tbls per serving and mix well it is enough, just mark it fit in my goals for the day.
Yes! Salsa mixed with ranch is a great veggie dip.0 -
I didn't read if others said it already but next time you're out shopping at anywhere (I get mine at Walmart!) go to the salad section of the store and look for Bolt House Greek yogurt ranch: 45 calories for 2 tablespoons and is thick/creamy and tastes just like ranch! It is wonderful.0

Maybe I will like the yogurt and ranch season mix.
I like my salad drenched in dressing - hate, hate, hate when there is only a little dressing and it barely covers the lettuce.0 -

Mix fat free plain yogurt with ranch seasoning. Or mix the seasoning into fat free sour cream. Mmmmm0

I have made my own. And my husband loves it, who is pretty much anti-healthy. Anyway, I take a regular tub of 2% cottage cheese and a packet of ranch dressing. I put it in a blender with a little water depending on how thick or thin you want it. That's it!! It tastes really good.
Now that sounds good! I will be trying that

Skip the Ranch Dressing and use the calories you save to put Fresh BACON in the salad. Yum... bacon.
Um...No....bacon ranch dressing...end of story0 -

Agree. No point eating a salad if you can barely taste the dressing. I dont drench it, but theres gotta be a good amount on it. I wont even waste my time on a salad with only a few ingredients. I go big or not at all. Chef salad with ham, egg, cottage cheese, shredded cheddar ,croutons and thousand island is my fav.0 -
bump ...because i love ranch dressing and it's hard to find a good one, nevermind worrying about the cals, I just want a nice fresh herby creamy savory ranch with low sweetness, no chemicalness, and no weird sour or bitterness. What happened to the ranch of my youth? I wish I can remember where I got that best first taste of ranch. Hopefully buying all the ranches on this thread will reveal it to me. my recent holy grail. *sigh*0

I love the full calorie Hidden Valley Buttermilk Ranch Dressing. I just budget for the calories and enjoy having it.0

Ditto on the Bolthouse Yogurt Ranch. Tastes good unlike fat-free anything. Just measure and don't use a ridiculous amount.0

If you like a lot of dressing ill second the Greek yogurt + ranch packet. 1/2c of Greek yogurt is crazy amount of good protein. Slather on with great health benefits. I made a batch without the milk & sheesh it tasted exactly like chip dip.

Healthy Ranch Dressing
Ingredients:
1 cup Greek Yogurt PLAIN.
1 Packet hidden valley ranch mix
*1/2 cup 1% or 2% milk
whisk together all ingredients and let it sit for an hour.
*i used 1/2 cup of milk because that is what the recipe called for but i thought it was a bit too runny for my liking. so add less milk for a little thicker dressing.
