So you have your main part of your meal - meat, fish, etc but what do you guys have with it along with salad/veg. We generally either have a pasta/rice/couscous dish or it's potatoes of some kind.

I have veggies and meat. I usually skip the carb portion of the meal unless I have a bit of rice with lots of butter and salt. I'd rather fill up on veggies than waste my calories on carbs.

    My sides are as follows:

    Salad
    sauteed veggies
    potatoes in some form
    beans
    rice
    quinoa
    bread

    Guess that's it

wow I couldn't just have meat & veg,

I'm probably just trying to add variety and work around the eat well plate - http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Goodfood/Documents/Eatwellplate.pdf

I'm not terribly keen on rice and rarely buy potatoes because they're usually sold in too large quantities for me. So most nights it's just veg+protein for me - can be meat, egg, fish or tofu. I am rather partial to pasta though, but I dont eat it too often because I can eat more veg for the same amount of calories.

Frozen veggies, always. Sometimes whole grain noodles, couscous, potatoes, squash or rice.
