I way overdid the sodium yesterday and will be keeping a closer eye on it. Thank God for this diary because I can see where I mess up. Have a great day everyone!! Denise

I agree!! I never would realize what I really was eating if I wasn't tracking. I never thought to track it and never really knew how people did it 'cause I couldn't do it in my head!

Good job on becoming aware of your sodium! It can really make a difference - I started out being over almost all the time, now I'm usually 1500-2000 mg/day. Biggest thing you can do to help yourself: avoid as much processed/pre-packaged food as possible. I eat mostly fresh fruits/veggies, home-made meals, etc. and it's much easier to stay in a healthy range. For things you prefer to buy pre-made, there are more and more low (or no sodium added) options, so read the labels when you shop. My favorite is beans - I eat these frequently, and I only buy the no-sodium added cans.

P.S. my food diary's public - you're welcome to take a look. I'm not perfect, but most day's I'm well under the recommended sodium limit.

Thanks so much, both of you:) Yes, I am not taking enough time to shop and make my own meals. I have gotten in the habit of picking up deli chicken etc for lunch(actually the dinner hour at 5). I am on a weird schedule but it's no excuse. Today I will do better, have a good one, Denise!!:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :flowerforyou:

I know what you mean. I had to watch my sodium too. I thought adding salt to my food was the problem and now I see
it was the sodium content in the foods I ate before adding salt was too high.
